Est. Read Time: < 1 min

A Lower Saucon Township woman is accused of stealing copper from empty units in her Steel City apartment building.

According to a news release issued by township police Tuesday, Kimberly Pearl, 34, 2168 Riverside Drive, had access to the vacant apartments between Nov. 1, 2014 and May 8, when the theft of copper pipe from them was discovered by the landlord.

Police said an investigation revealed that Pearl “cashed in copper at a local scrap yard on three occasions while living at (the) location.”

Pearl has been charged with theft, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief, police said.

She was arraigned on those charges before District Judge Jacqueline Taschner and committed to Northampton County Prision in lieu of $20,000 bail, they added.
