Helga “Sue” Yates, 88, of Kintnersville, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.Yates She was the wife of the late Clarence D. Yates Sr. Sue was born in Gelsenkirchen, Germany (the City of Churches) on Aug. 1, 1926 to the late Friedrich Sr. and Emilie (Piorunek) Keisers. She graduated from Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, Germany. Sue was an interpreter for the U.S. Army, where she spoke fluently in five languages. For 12-15 years she operated Yates Trucking Company and in her later years she was a bookkeeper for Quakertown National Bank. Sue was a faithful member for 60 years at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ferndale. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives.

SURVIVORS

Children: Rosemarie E. wife of Donald E. Silverthorn of Ottsville, Barbara S. Moninghoff of South Whitehall Township, Clarence D. Jr. and his wife Debra of Kintnersville, Patricia A. wife of Thomas Garey of Kintnersville, Carol Lynn wife of Troy Schuster of Perkasie; grandchildren: Rebecca, Brian, Heidi, Will, Gary, Michael, Bobby, John and Robyn; six great-grandchildren. Sue was predeceased by a granddaughter: Katelyn; siblings; Rosemarie Ulatowski and Friedrich Keisers Jr.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at the funeral home. The interment will conclude services at Nockamixon Union Cemetery, Ferndale.
