They’ll come in handy if you’re planning to march in or attend this year’s Saucon Valley Spirit Parade, which organizers recently announced will have a ’60s-Woodstock’ theme.

The parade will be held Sunday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. in Hellertown, and will follow the route that has been used in recent years: Walnut Street to Main Street to Water Street to Rentzheimer Drive to Durham Street to Constitution Avenue.

The beginning and end point for the parade will be the Saucon Valley School District campus between Walnut Street and Polk Valley Road.

Parade registration forms are now available at both Hellertown Borough Hall, 685 Main St., and Lower Saucon Town Hall, 3700 Old Philadelphia Pike, Bethlehem.

The deadline to register to be in it is Oct. 9 (see below for the registration form, or download it from the Spirit Parade Facebook page).

Sponsors and donors are also needed, and a fundraiser is planned for Monday, Sept. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Braveheart Highland Pub, 430 Main St., Hellertown.

The celebrity guest bartender fundraiser will feature pouring by Miae Monterio, Puffins Café; Cheyenne Reiman, Coldwell Banker Hearthside, Realtors; Mike McKenna, Hellertown Borough Council; Raea Pereira, Red Eagle Leadership Academy; Terry Stauffer, Hellertown Area Library; Herb Payung, Saucon Valley School District; Marie Laub, Spirit Parade Committee; and Cathy Gorman, Lower Saucon Township.

All tips received and a percentage of food sold during the fundraiser will help fund the parade.
