A section of Kichline Avenue in Hellertown will be closed for road reconstruction related to the ongoing $36 million Rt. 412 widening project beginning Friday, Sept. 11 at 9 a.m., PennDOT said in a travel advisory issued Friday.

The short section of road that will be closed is between Oak Alley and Main Street, and is currently one-way only for traffic exiting Main Street.
The detour around the closure will be via Kiernan Avenue, which is the next cross-street to the south of Kichline Avenue.
Southbound motorists on Rt. 412 who are traveling to Vassi’s Drive-In–which is located at 1666 Main Street–will be able to reach that business and other nearby addresses via Kiernan, which intersects with Oak Alley a block south of Kichline.
