Athlete of the Week: Paige Jones (Sponsored by C. Fluck Training)

Est. Read Time: 2 mins

The Saucon Girls Soccer team strikes again! This week’s Saucon Source Athlete of the Week is Paige Jones.

Paige Jones

Paige Jones

Paige scored one goal and had two assists vs. Pen Argyl, three goals and two assists vs. Bangor, and one goal against Northwestern Lehigh. For those keeping score at home, that is a total of five goals and four assists in one week! If that is not enough, Coach Stevie Ochse said Paige quite possibly had one of the best goals of the season versus powerhouse Northwestern. The Panther team won all three games.

Paige Jones has been nominated by the Morning Call Sports Department for the Coordinated Health Athlete of the Week, which means she could win a $1,000 scholarship. Click here to vote for Paige. Voting closes Wednesday night at 5 p.m.!

Notable Achievements

Football players Evan Culver and Zach Thatcher. The backfield mates led the rushing attack for Saucon totaling a combined 363 yards and six touchdowns! This effort enabled the Panthers to knock off undefeated rival Southern Lehigh 49-30.

Men’s Soccer player Ryan Smith. Ryan scored two goals vs. Pen Argyl and two against Bangor, both in victories for the men’s soccer team.

Golfer Thomas Coakley. Thomas played in three matches this past week, shot a 78, 73 and 73 respectively, and led Saucon to three wins. He has a 75 average to date, which is the lowest average for a Saucon Valley player in my seven years of coaching.
