A Hanover Township, Northampton County man was cited for allegedly not securing the load on his vehicle after police say a can of white paint toppled off it and landed on Rt. 378, where it was struck by another driver traveling at 40 mph on Friday, Sept. 25.

In a news release Monday, police said Aouni Tannous, 45, of the 1100 block of Granite Drive, was northbound when a 5-gallon bucket of paint fell off the back of his vehicle and was struck by a 68-year-old Upper Milford Township woman shortly after 8 a.m.

Police said the paint covered 200 feet of one lane and required its closure for cleanup by PennDOT.
