2015-16 Saucon Valley Wrestling is looking to build on 3-peat success
Saucon Valley earned pins in 8 of the 12 matches wrestled as the Panthers made quick work of Southern Lehigh in their home opener 63-3. The Panthers received falls from Paul Miller (120), Josh Jones (126), Angelo Mahaffey (138), Nate Harka (160), Dylan Yonney (170), Devan VanVliet (195), Devin Fontanez (220) and Trey Polak (285).
Saucon Valley also tallied wins from Nick Rosengrant (113), Jonah Zych (132), Justin Kyra (145) and Jason Jones (152).
Rosengrant, Josh Jones and Justin Kyra are all freshmen for the Panthers.
Saucon Valley took the first step toward a fourth consecutive Colonial League title. Their next league meet is Wednesday, Jan. 6 when they will host Palisades. First, however, the Panthers will sharpen their skills in the “Hurricane” at Liberty High School on Dec. 28 and 29 and at the Biglerville Duals on New Year’s Day weekend.
