Man Who Drove Into Pond Charged With DUI, Police Say

A Williams Township man who drove off Wassergass Road and into a pond/boggy area near Southeastern Park Dec. 26 has been charged with DUI, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Monday.

A Williams Township man who reportedly drove off Wassergass Road and into a pond/boggy area near Southeastern Park Dec. 26 has been charged with DUI, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Monday.

According to police, Werner Huntley Rose’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was determined to be .21 percent following the 7:08 a.m. accident in which he allegedly struck several utility poles and “launched over another utility pole,” before his car ended up in the body of water.

Rose, of the 100 block of Coffeetown Road, has also been charged with careless driving and cited for speeding, police said.
