Lower Saucon Township Police said Thursday that a 20-year-old Coopersburg man is facing charges stemming from a hit-and-run accident that occurred Wednesday afternoon at Rt. 378 and Seidersville Road.
In a news release, police said Julio Ceasar Dominquez, of the first block of S. Main Street, struck another vehicle that was stopped for a traffic light at 2:52 p.m., and “then fled from the scene, traveling south on Rt. 378 in a reckless manner (and) running red lights.”
With vehicle registration information obtained by a witness at the scene, police said they were able to track Dominquez to his home, where he allegedly admitted to the hit-and-run.
“Julio stated he left the scene because he was scared, (and) he also had another accident in Upper Saucon Township as a result of his driving habits while trying to flee from his first accident.”
Dominquez is charged with causing an accident involving damage to attended property, a red light violation and failure to provide information at an accident scene, police said.
