Marie M. Mertus, 80, of Lower Saucon Township died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016. She was the wife of Louis J. Mertus. She was born in Fountain Hill on April 2, 1935 to the late John A. and Margaret (Szver) Meseros. She was a waitress at Saucon Valley Country Club, the former Bethlehem Steel Club and various other locations. Marie was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Bethlehem, and active in the Prayer Shawl Ministry at the church.

In addition to her loving husband of 61 years; sons: Louis J. (Jodi) of Bethlehem Township, Jeffrey M. (Faye L.) of Harrisburg, Thomas E. (Nancy A.) of Allentown, Anthony F. of Allentown, Andrew A. (Lori A.) of Hellertown; sisters: Elizabeth of Bath, Helen (Rodney) of Moore Township, Anna (Chris) of the Poconos; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters: Marjorie and Irene.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 and 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The service will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1817 First St., Bethlehem.
