Society Hill Fire Victim Identified as Homeowner

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek has identified the victim of Thursday’s fire at 1859 Mansfield Street in Lower Saucon Township’s Society Hill development as the home’s owner, 68-year-old Eleanor Loughran.

Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek has identified the victim of Thursday’s fire at 1859 Mansfield Street in Lower Saucon Township’s Society Hill development as the home’s owner, 68-year-old Eleanor Loughran, who was pronounced dead inside the home, the Express-Times reported Monday.

Lysek told the newspaper it could take several weeks to conclude the investigation that will determine Loughran’s cause and manner of death.

The investigation is being conducted by township police, the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and Se-Wy-Co Volunteer Fire Company.

Police discovered that a fire had occurred at Loughran’s home after they went there to perform a welfare check at around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
