Volunteer presenteers are needed for a Saucon Valley Elementary School Career Day planned for Friday, May 20, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. A second event for PM Kindergarten only will also be held.
A letter from SVES counselors Amanda Hicks and Kelly Calabrese explains why the Career Day is being held:
Research has shown that students who are most successful in school are those who know “what they want to be when they grow up.” It is our hope that by introducing our students to a variety of careers and hobbies, they might better understand the importance of receiving an education.
Based on the Myers Briggs Interest Inventory, we will be introducing students to occupational fields that correspond to their personality types. We are looking for volunteers from many different careers or areas of interest that fall within four categories/color groups listed below. Two volunteers per grade level per color group will speak to groups of students for 15-20 minutes and answer student questions.
