Samuel A. Litzenberger, 79, of Hellertown, died Friday, April 1, 2016 at Moravian Village Health Care, Bethlehem.

Samuel A. Litzenberger, 79, of Hellertown, died Friday, April 1, 2016 at Moravian Village Health Care, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Jane L. (Wolfinger) Litzenberger. He was born in Quakertown on Sept. 27, 1936 to the late Samuel and Margaret (Courtney) Litzenberger. Samuel was a self-employed general practice lawyer for over 50 years in Quakertown and Riegelsville. He graduated from Palisades High School in 1954, and was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame cum laude, a graduate of Dickinson Law School in 1961, and a member of the Law Review. Samuel was a former member of St. Lawrence RC Church, Riegelsville, an active member of the Democratic Party; the Kiwanis Club, Riegelsville; Knights of Columbus, Bucks County; and the Solicitor for the Fraternal Order of Police. He also served on the Palisades School District Board of Directors.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his loving wife of 47 years last June; children: Sara E. (John) Polefka of Bethlehem, Greg S. of Kissimmee, Fla.; brother: Magisterial Judge (Ret.) Attorney Ralph W. of Lake Worth, Fla.; two grandchildren: Emily, Kimberly. He was predeceased by an infant brother: Roy.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence RC Church, 345 Elmwood Lane, Riegelsville. The interment will conclude services at Riegelsville Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choosing.
