“The police say we have to wait 24 hours because she turned 18 in December,” she added.

Byles said the family would file a missing persons report Saturday.

Zerby is described as having shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes, slight acne and no scars or tattoos.

She was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans and tan shoes.

Byles said the last time she was positively seen was by a teacher at Saucon Valley Elementary School, who reported seeing Zerby walking toward the high school with a young man.

“She’s never done anything like this before so we’re not thinking she ran away,” Byles said.

Anyone with information about Zerby’s whereabouts is asked to call the family at 570-977-6854.
