Jeanette Gallo, 80, of Hellertown, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. She was the wife of the late Carmen M. ‘Chico’ Gallo. Carmen M. ‘Chico’ Gallo, 81, of Hellertown, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. A memorial service for both husband and wife will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown.

Jeanette Gallo, 80, of Hellertown, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. She was the wife of the late Carmen M. “Chico” Gallo. She was born in Fountain Hill on April 4, 1935 to the late Lester G. Heppner and Martha R. (Lorenz) Muhr. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, where she had served on its Consistory and led several Bible studies. She also volunteered with the Alzheimer’s Association and served as an ESL tutor.

SURVIVORS

Sons: Richard J. of Belfast, Pa., Jay M. Jr. (Shelly) of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary M. (Jennifer) of White Lake, Mich.; grandchildren: Ian X. Gallo, Darby A. Gallo. She was predeceased by daughter Karen Marie on Oct. 4, 1962; and a brother: Robert G. Heppner.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.

Carmen M. “Chico” Gallo, 81, of Hellertown, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was married to Jeanette S. (Heppner) Gallo. Carmen was born in Fountain Hill on Sept. 3, 1933 to the late Felix and Lucia (Gabriele) Gallo. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Carmen was a draftsman at the former Bethlehem Steel Co. and at Mack Truck, Allentown, until his retirement. He attended First United Church of Christ, Hellertown. He was a member Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown, a social member of the Dewey Fire Co., and a long-time member and six-time club champion at Silver Creek Country Club.

In addition to his loving wife; sons: Richard J. of Belfast, Pa., Jay M. Jr. (Shelly) of Jacksonville, Fla., Gary M. (Jennifer) of White Lake, Mich.; siblings: Joseph (Manuella) of Bethlehem, Mary Gallo of Fountain Hill; grandchildren: Ian X. Gallo, Darby A. Gallo. He was predeceased by a daughter Karen Marie (Oct. 4, 1962); and sisters: Antoinette Matey and Mary Gallo.
