Aide from Hellertown Health Care Service Implicated in Alleged Check Fraud Scheme

An unidentified aide employed by an unnamed Hellertown health care service is implicated in a check forging scheme that allegedly netted an Allentown man $2,000, although she is “yet to be charged,” according to a story published by the Express-Times April 20.

According to the article, Bushkill Township Police said the female aide–who was assigned to work for Edwin Pensyl of Bushkill, to help care for his 90-year-old mother last summer–allegedly deposited a forged check belonging to Pensyl that had gone missing into the account of an Allentown man Oct. 21.

The Allentown man–identifed as Jonathan Elias Tabarani, 22, of the 200 block of W. Liberty Street–has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy to commit theft, according to court records, which indicated he was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of 10 percent of $15,000 bail.
