A 22-year-old Lower Saucon Township man is charged with receiving stolen property and theft after police say he stole more than $2,500 from Bagel Basket, 1850 Friedensville Road in the township, between early January and early May, according to published reports.

Shawn Casey Jackson, of the 1900 block of Meadows Road, was confronted earlier this month by Bagel Basket owner Mohammed Qureshi, who later called township police and told them he had video surveillance footage of Jackson allegedly taking cash from two registers, the Morning Call reported Wednesday.

Jackson allegedly admitted to stealing $40 a day most days he was working, and $20 on other days, the article quoted police as saying in court records.

Lehigh Valley Live reported that Jackson allegedly told police he spent the money on video games and food.

Qureshi discovered the alleged theft after he reviewed surveillance tapes because he noticed cash was missing, the Lehigh Valley Live story indicated.

Jackson was released Tuesday on $10,000 unsecured bail following an arraignment before District Judge James Narlesky, according to court records.
