Girl Admits to Falling Asleep While Driving, Sideswiping Passing Car, Police Say

According to police, both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene and there were no injuries as a result of the accident.

A 17-year-old girl from Slatington admitted to officers that she fell asleep while driving northbound on Rt. 378 early on the morning of June 11, allegedly sideswiping a car that was in the left turning lane for Black River Road, according to a news release issued by Lower Saucon Township Police Wednesday.

According to police, both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene and there were no injuries as a result of the accident.

The teen was charged with careless driving, they added.
