A 17-year-old boy’s bag of marijuana as well as glass smoking devices with burnt residue in them were discovered when a fire broke out in his home in the 1600 block of Woodfield Drive on the evening of May 28, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Thursday.

According to police, the fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the teen’s room. It was in that room that the marijuana and paraphernalia were allegedly discovered during an investigation into the blaze, they said.

“The drug paraphernalia was in plain sight” and the pot was discovered after police obtained permission from the home’s owner to search the room, the news release indicated.

Police said the boy will be charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia through the Northampton County Juvenile Court system.
