David Philip Heller, 76, of East Hampton, Conn., died Sunday, June 26, 2016 in Middletown, after a brief illness. Dave was born Aug. 18, 1939 in Allentown to the late Philip O. Heller and Thelma (Wertz) Heller. After graduation from Allentown High School in 1957, Dave enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and attended NCR (National Cash Register), where he learned computer programming in the two popular languages being used at the time. He remained at P&W as a programmer for 27 years. Dave is survived by Marilyn R. Heller of Wethersfield.

Wife: Marilyn R. Heller, Wethersfield; daughters: Lanie C. Heller-Murray (John K. Murray), East Greenwich, R.I., Christie L. Helm (Arron E. Helm), Raleigh, N.C.; grandchildren: Maxwell David Heller, Avrie Elise Helm; siblings: Nancy A. Gerhart, Columbia, Mo., Gregory S. Heller (Mary Rose), Hellertown. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law: Norman Gerhart.
SERVICE
A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
