A Lower Saucon Township man who was allegedly riding a bicycle northbound on the southbound shoulder of Rt. 412 Thursday afternoon was cited after police say a female motorist who was turning out of the American Family Services thrift shop parking lot at 1804 Leithsville Road collided with him.

In a news release issued Monday, police said Mike Horwedel, of the 1900 block of Leithsville Road, was riding past the parking lot entrance when the Coopersburg woman tried to make a right turn out of the lot and hit him at about 3:15 p.m.

Horwedel was cited for “Operation on Shoulder, Driving on the Wrong Side of the Road,” which police said resulted in the “minor” accident.
