The Lower Saucon Township Police Department along with Buckle-Up PA will hold a child safety seat and seat belt enforcement initiative as part of a statewide enforcement mobilization scheduled through Sept. 30, PennDOT announced in a news release Tuesday.

“The Mobilization corresponds with the National Child Passenger Safety Week, Sept. 18 through 24, and National Seat Check Saturday, Sept. 24,” the news release said.

In the Saucon Valley, seat belt enforcement activities will be conducted at the Saucon Valley School District Campus–at the entrance to the elementary school–and at other locations in Lower Saucon Township between 7 and 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.

One of the Lower Saucon Township Police Department’s goals with this enforcement initiative is to help prevent and reduce child injuries and fatalities by promoting the use of age-and size-appropriate restraints, the news release said.
