Doris Jean Washburn, 81, of Glendon died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of Robert P. Washburn.

Doris Jean Washburn, 81, of Glendon died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at her residence. She was the wife of Robert P. Washburn.washburn She was born in Wilson Borough on May 2, 1935 to the late Charles J. and Mildred R. (Schlough) Brown. Doris was a graduate of Wilson Area School District. Doris worked for the Borough of Glendon as a Secretary/Treasurer and in accounting at Lauter’s Fine Furniture, Easton. She was past Secretary/Treasurer of the PTA at Avona Elementary School, Wilson Borough, and served on the Wilson Area School Board. She also served on the operating committee of the Eastern Northampton County Area Vo-Tech School. Doris was a member of St. Luke’s Old Williams Church, Hellertown. She enjoyed needlework and reading.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her husband of 63 years; children: Thomas L. (Lori) of Ridgefield, Wash., Rolene D. (Paul B.) Kichline of Hellertown, David R. (Cathy Lee) of Chesapeake, Va.; siblings: Katherine Picone of Pennsylvania, Carl (Jane) Brown of Pennsylvania, Christina (Martin) Sonn of Wilson Borough; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
