The Wendy’s on Hellertown Road (Rt. 412) in Bethlehem, near the I-78 interchange in Hellertown, is iin the process of receiving a makeover–and local residents have taken notice.
The inside dining room is currently closed while the restaurant is being updated, although the kitchen and drive-thru window remained open as of Thursday night.
Exterior renovations that are under way are giving the popular fast food eatery a sleeker, more modern appearance; part of a rebranding which is designed to appeal to a younger clientele, according to a franchise owner interviewed by a North Carolina newspaper.
Tad Doblier told the Statesville Record & Landmark Friday that a Wendy’s he owns in Statesville will feature more lighting, a wifi bar, a fireplace, televisions, tile floors, lounge seating, cafe tables and other design enhancements.
While it’s unclear if the Hellertown Road Wendy’s will feature these elements when it reopens, Saucon Source has reached out to Wendy’s Media Relations department for information about what the local store’s renovations entail and when they will be completed. The busy restaurant known especially for its flame-broiled burgers is located at the corner of Silvex Road and Rt. 412. It’s also known for serving breakfast and catering to the large amount of traffic that enters and exits the interstate across the street.
It is one of several Wendy’s restaurants in the Bethlehem area. Other stores are located on Broadway in South Bethlehem and Easton Avenue in North Bethlehem.
