Choking Hazard Prompts ‘Cesar’ Dog Food Recall

Following a recall by MARS Petcare, Giant Food Stores announced Sunday that it has removed from sale Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Dog Food and Cesar Classics Variety Pack due to a potential choking risk from hard white pieces of plastic which entered the food during the production process.

Following a recall by MARS Petcare, Giant Food Stores announced Sunday that it has removed from sale Cesar Classics Filet Mignon Dog Food and Cesar Classics Variety Pack due to a potential choking risk from hard white pieces of plastic which entered the food during the production process.

The following products are included in the recall:cesar-classic

  • Cesar Classics Filet Mignon, 3.5 oz., UPC  23100017792, Item #: 21443, Lot Codes: 631G3KKC06, 631F2KKC06
  • Cesar Classics Variety Pack 24 pk., UPC  23100010257, Item #: 143949, Lot Code: 634B24JC04

Giant said it has received no reports of injuries or illnesses to date.

Customers who have purchased the recalled products should discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to a Giant store for a full refund.
