Giant Customer Took $100 Cash Back That Man Forgot, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who allegedly took $100 in debited cash back that a man forgot to take out of the change slot at a self check-out station at Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road, Saturday, police said.

UPDATE: On Tuesday, Nov. 8 Lower Saucon Township Police said the suspect in this case has been identified. Police said the suspect–a woman–turned herself in and returned the money that was allegedly taken. Charges are pending, according to police.

Lower Saucon Township Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who allegedly took $100 in debited cash back that a man forgot to take out of the change slot at a self check-out station at Giant Food Store, 1880 Leithsville Road, Saturday, police said.

In a news release, police said Kevin Fitzpatrick, of the 100 block of Front Street, Hellertown, mistakenly left the cash there after he bagged his groceries at 10:17 a.m.

“The following customer in that lane took the money and left the store,” police said.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect in the theft on their Facebook page and requested that anyone with information contact them at 610-317-6110.
