The 2016 District XI 4A championship was a war Friday night. Saucon Valley battled to the very end against a very good Bethlehem Catholic football team. As to be expected there was no quit in this great group of boys. The Panthers kept fighting to the very end. Saucon would scratch their way back and cut the Bethlehem Catholic lead to six with 4:32 left to play in the game thanks in part to the efforts of Alstan “Primetime” Wolfe.
With Bethlehem Catholic driving with about six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Hawk quarterback Javon Clements tried to stick a fork in the Panthers and took a “kill shot” against the Saucon Valley defense. Neither of the Panther safeties, Kory Kemmerer nor Alstan Wolfe, were fooled by the Hawk attempt to split them for a big gain. The Panthers would get an interception, return it 30 yards and keep their hopes alive.

Just for kicks we’ve added a bonus play to show the Panthers cash in on BECA’s turnover. Quarterback Brandon Holub hit Alstan Wolfe on a “curl-flat” combo for the late touchdown.

They tried hard, and the Panthers would get the ball back for one last chance to take the lead, but it just wasn’t meant to be on this night. Nonetheless, it was a valiant effort by Saucon Valley.
Great job Panthers and many THANKS for the many memories. This Source will always be with you!
