On the third day of honoring Panther football record holders, Saucon Source gives to you senior Trey Polak.
Trey wore #75 and played offensive and defensive line for the Panthers. He is another of those big ol’ lovable Hogs, standing 6’2″ and weighing 250. When he wasn’t clearing holes or protecting teammates like Zach Petiet, Nate Kehs and Brandon Holub on offense, Trey was busy terrorizing opposing ball-carriers.
This past season on defense Trey was credited with 22 tackles and 17 assists, including 1.5 quarterback sacks. It is his defensive prowess over the years that leads Trey into the Saucon Valley High School football record books. For the 2015 season Trey assisted on 42 tackles, which places him 7th for assists in a season. Moreso, Trey is 5th overall in career assists with 77 total.
Who’s #1 in assisted tackles in a season? Christian Carvis (2015) is credited with 82 tackle assists in a season.
Who’s #1 in assisted tackles in a career? Christian Carvis leads all with 129 career assists (2012-2015).
Trey said it: “My best Saucon Valley football memory was when we made it to the state semifinals last year.”
Coach Sams said it: “Trey Polak has made improvement every season that he has been in this program! Trey was a 2nd team Colonial League offensive lineman, but played like a 1st teamer. On the defensive side of the ball Trey was arguably our best defensive lineman the second half of the season and it is unfortunate the league did not recognize him, but the Saucon Valley football staff did. He was a game changer for us.”
Congrats Trey, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
