For Saucon Valley residents looking for a way to dispose of their Christmas trees after the holiday, there is an option that will also benefit local Boy Scouts.

Boy Scout Troop 311 will once again collect trees door-to-door in Hellertown and parts of Lower Saucon Township on Saturday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 14.

The cost for pickup is $5 per tree ($4 for seniors), with proceeds to benefit the troop and their activities.

Trees must be cleaned of all decorations and lights, and placed curbside by 8 a.m. on the scheduled day of pickup.

Payment can be placed in an envelope taped to the front door of your home or the tree.

To schedule a pickup, or find out if your home is within the pickup area, please call 484-893-0018 or email pa*****************@go**********.com.

Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township don’t offer curbside pickup of trees, but they may be dropped off at the Saucon Valley Compost Center, 2011 Springtown Hill Road, Hellertown, on Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to noon, Jan. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Jan. 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (weather permitting).
