A Steel City apartment building owner has been cited with a Lower Saucon Township ordinance violation (“Accumulated Rubbish”) after police say he failed to empty an overflowing dumpster at his property at 2168 Riverside Drive.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said Samy Azar, of the 3200 block of W. Walker Road, Bath, was warned about the overflowing dumpster and given one week to rectify the situation.

When an officer inspected the property March 7, police say he observed the same garbage that had been there a week prior “plus even more garbage.”

“The officer also noticed cats dragging food items from the garbage pile and transporting it into an unsecured door of the…apartment building,” police said.
