The Saucon Valley Lions’ annual Lehigh Valley Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show in Hellertown helps raise money for charities such as the Blind Foundation and other initiatives the Lions support, like scholarships for local students.

Whether you’re a rock collector, a jewelry lover or simply an admirer of shiny objects you won’t want to miss the Saucon Valley Lions Club’s 47th annual Lehigh Valley Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, in the Saucon Valley High School gymnasium.

This year’s gem show will feature more than 20 vendors from as far away as Massachusetts selling a huge variety of unique and beautiful gems, minerals, jewelry, jewelry supplies, fossils, lapidary supplies and much more. Local businesses including Gilman’s at the Cave (Lost River Caverns) and Kindred Spirits Books & Gifts will have booths.

The show will be open Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There will also be a bake sale and food available for purchase, along with hourly door prizes.

Dolce Patisserie of Hellertown will have delectable confectionaries for sale, and (new this year) Westley Morris of Body Bank Massage Therapy of Hellertown will be offering chair massages if lifting any heavy rock samples leads to sore shoulders.

Coupons good for 50 cents off admission can be found online at www.sauconvalleylions.org and at select local businesses in the Hellertown area.

Regular admission to the show is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for seniors and $6 for students. Children age three and under are free.

All proceeds from the show benefit local charites and families in need, Saucon Valley School District scholarships and the Blind Foundation.

A blood drive to benefit Miller-Keystone Blood Center will be held simultaneously in the high school cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and donors are needed.

All blood donors receive free admission to the show.

A photo ID is required at the time of registration to be a blood donor. Visit GiveAPint.org to create a donor profile and use sponsor code 1496 beforehand.

Saucon Valley High School is located at 2100 Polk Valley Road, Hellertown, Pa.
