Geza F. Gerencher, 96, of Hellertown, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was the husband of the late Dorothy D. (Yagiello) Gerencher.

Geza F. Gerencher, 96, of Hellertown, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. He was the husband of the late Dorothy D. (Yagiello) Gerencher, who died Jan. 26, 2014. He was born in Freemansburg on Nov. 26, 1920 to the late Matthew and Lena (Bertai) Gerencher. Geza worked at SGL Abrasives, Carlisle as an Abrasive Engineer for 10 years until retirement. He had also worked at Simons Abrasive, Philadelphia for 18 years in the same capacity and Bethlehem Steel as a machinist for 17 years. Geza served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of St. John’s Capistrano Catholic Church, Bethlehem, attended Bethlehem Vocational-Technical School, and was a graduate of Temple University and a member of Hole in One Club, Stroudsburg. He enjoyed small game hunting and fishing.

SURVIVORS

Nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by siblings: Helen Baba, Violet Sterner, Zoltan, Joseph and William Gerencher.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Theresa of the Child Jesus RC Church, 1408 Easton Road, Hellertown, PA 18055.
