A Hellertown borough resident reported that someone vandalized her family’s car–a blue Hyundai coupe–late Monday, May 8, or early May 9, causing about $3,500 in estimated damage to it.

Brenda Carvis said on Facebook in the Hellertown, Pennsylvania group that all four of the car’s tires were slashed, the body was scratched along its entire length and the hood was spray-painted with an “inappropriate” symbol “sometime after 11:30 p.m. and before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.”

Carvis said the car was parked in front of her home on Magnolia Road in the borough’s Mountainview section at the time.

A police report was filed, she added.

“We are hoping to find the immature, disrespectful person or persons responsible for the destruction of our property and the inconvenience and financial burden this vandalism has caused,” Carvis said. “If anyone saw anything or heard of anything happening on Magnolia Road near the intersection of Cedar Road between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on May 8 and 7:30 a.m. on May 9 please contact the Hellertown police at 610-330-2200. Any information might be helpful.”
