Arthur J. Werner Sr., 89, of Steel City, Lower Saucon Township, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the husband of the late Ruth M. (Hamm) Werner, who died Jan. 13, 2009. He was born in Bethlehem on Nov. 4, 1927 to the late Arthur L.E. and Mary (Seagreves). Art worked at Bethlehem Steel for 42 years, retiring in 1990 as a welder. He served his country honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army. Art was a past president at Steel City Rod and Gun Club and the former Steel City Motorcycle Club. He was a past fire chief of the Steel City Volunteer Fire Company.

Werner Jr. and his wife Cynthia A.; siblings: Frederick and his wife Marion of Bethlehem, Prunella wife of Sam Nuttal of Lewisburg; grandchildren: Shelly (Richard) DeBellis, Richard, Arthur Werner III and Andrea Werner (Andy) Branscom; great-grandchildren: Richard, Brittany, Cody-Lee, Briana, Arthur IV, James and Tiberius; great-great-grandchildren: Quinn, Trey, Richard, Carson. He was predeceased by siblings: Robert Werner and Mary Orner.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Friday morning will be followed by the service at 10 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Memorial Park Cemetery, Bethlehem.
