A Lower Saucon Township dog owner was cited for an alleged township ordinance violation (“Confinement of Animals”) after police say his dog was found running around the Black River Plaza shopping center on Rt. 378 on the evening of July 8.

In a news release Tuesday, police said John Mcauliffe, of the 3600 block of Fire Lane, was cited after a witness was able to contain the dog and police took it to the township’s kennel for the evening after Mcauliffe was unable to be contacted.

“From previous incidents police were aware of who the owner was,” the news release stated. “(The) defendant was warned on seven previous occasions.”
