Panther Play of the Week: Morrissey Hot Off the Edge (Brought to You by Hellertown Bakery)

Week after week of Alstan Wolfe making remarkable plays, sooner or later, will make them unremarkable.  Saucon Source is afraid our readers will become numb to his super-freaky touchdown runs.  Wolfe did have a couple of those in the mercy-rule victory of Northwestern Lehigh, but we figured we’d show you a little bit from the defensive side of the ball.

Junior defensive end Patrick Morrissey

Week after week of Alstan Wolfe making remarkable plays will, sooner or later, make them unremarkable.  Saucon Source is afraid our readers will become numb to his super-freaky touchdown runs.  Wolfe did have a couple of those in the mercy-rule victory of Northwestern Lehigh, but we figured we’d show you a little bit from the defensive side of the ball.

On this play, the Tigers quarterback, Deven Bollinger, drops back to pass and is looking to his left.  He feels the pressure coming in his face from Evan Deily (#50).  As soon as Bollinger starts moving away from the pressure back to his right……..BAM!

All 6’2″,215 of Patrick Morrissey (#80) rips through the blocker and comes hot off the edge for the bone-crunching sack.  Had Morrissey not lowered the boom on Bollinger it looks as if blitzing linebacker Angelo Mahaffey (#44) would have cleaned it all up.  It was a great defensive play for the Panthers.
