James T. Ehret, 79, of Allentown, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem.

James T. Ehret, 79, of Allentown, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Dorothy (Opp) Harvey-Ehret. He was born in Fountain Hill on Dec. 5, 1938 to the late Samuel G. and Mary (Dunn) Ehret. James was a 1956 graduate of Liberty High School and District 11 Wrestling Champion for Liberty. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army during peacetime. He was the Steward of the 540 Democratic Club, Bethlehem for many years until his retirement. He had also worked for Strick Trailer, Perkasie, as an assembler for 20 years. James was a member of Holy Infancy Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem, an avid golfer and a lifetime member of the 540 Democratic Club.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 20 years; stepchildren: Scott (Janet) Harvey of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Laura (Daniel) Smith of Nesquehoning; siblings: Francis W. (Kathleen) Ehret of Hellertown, Dorothy M. (Samuel) Sanguinito of Pen Argyl; sister-in-law: Dolores Ehret of Bethlehem; 4 step-grandsons; 3 step-great-grandsons. He was predeceased by brother: Samuel G.

SERVICE

The service will be private at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at  www.heintzelmancares.com.
