The ongoing success story that surrounds Saucon Valley wrestling continued on Sunday. Following the varsity’s five match sweep at the Biglerville Canner Duals on Saturday, the Saucon youth wrestlers swept all five opponents from the Valley Elementary Wrestling League’s North Central Division on Sunday. Along the way to improving to an 11-1 record overall, the Little Panther varsity wrestlers defeated Southern Lehigh who was previously undefeated. With a great day on the mat, the Little Panthers are firmly in control of their division and appear to be a lock to make the post-season tournament!
“We went undefeated on the day”, head coach of the Little Panthers Ben Chunko said. “Our wrestlers stayed consistent and wrestled hard all day. We knew Southern Lehigh was undefeated and gunning for us, but our wrestlers were prepared. We won lots of toss-up matches and were able to win by a pretty decisive score. I was very pleased by our effort.”
