Members of the Panther junior high wrestling team celebrate their 1st Place “AA” finish.
The Saucon Valley junior high wrestlers joined more than forty other teams to participate in the District XI Championships this past weekend. 7th, 8th and 9th grade grapplers representing seven different counties competed at Parkland Area High School in this tough, two-day event. Offering 18 weight classes that range from 77 lbs. to 252 lbs., the tournament combines both the smaller “AA” schools with the larger “AAA” schools. When the final buzzer sounded Nazareth came out on top with the team title. Crowning one individual champion and placing six others on the podium, the Panthers finished a respectable eighth overall. Of the smaller schools, the Panthers were named the “AA” champions. It was another great weekend for Saucon Valley wrestling!
