David P. Einherst, 91, of Hellertown, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Westminster Village, Allentown. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Reith) Einherst. He was born in Hellertown on May 23, 1926 to the late August and Dorothy E. (Henn) Einherst. David worked from 1948 to 1981 serving the Borough of Hellertown on the police force and progressing in rank to become Police Chief from 1968 to 1981. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hellertown; Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown; Life Member of the Mid-Eastern Police Chief Association, Allentown; Life Member and Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police-Northampton Le-Hampton Lodge #35. David honorably served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
SURVIVORS
In addition to his loving wife of 66 years; sons: Richard D. (Ginny), Scott D. (Jennifer); brother: Russell C.; granddaughters: Courtney and Samantha. He was predeceased by sister: Jean Einherst in 1946.
SERVICE
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown. Military honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397.
