With temperatures soaring to near record levels of 100 degrees or better, many area residents are flocking to the popular Hellertown Pool for fun and cooling relief.

The pool’s turquoise waters and splash pad were filled with visitors of all ages Sunday, and likely will remain crowded daily through the 4th of July.

High temperatures are forecast to remain in the 90s through Thursday, and an excessive heat warning issued by the National Weather Service for potentially dangerous heat is in effect Monday until 8 p.m.

The Hellertown Pool at 575 Durham Street is open daily from noon to 7 p.m., weather permitting, through Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018. For more information about daily admission rates and season pass prices, click here.

The splash pad with pop jets next to the pool is always popular with little ones and their families.

Hellertown Pool staff were kept busy all day Sunday by the large crowds at the facility. With Bethlehem’s largest swimming pool–Memorial Pool–closed for renovations this summer, more residents from the Christmas City may be among the visitors.

Along the perimeter of the pool many visitors were happy simply to soak up some rays, although they were hot ones on Sunday. Others sat in the shade of beach umbrellas.
