Hellertown Legion Team Explodes in Playoff Game vs. Freemansburg

The team never looked back in its 16-8 win in Game 3 of the first round of the NorCo Legion playoffs, to advance to the semifinals against top-seeded Nazareth Thursday.

In mid-summer Legion baseball playoff action Wednesday, the Hellertown Legion team exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the first inning on four hits, two walks, a hit batsman and an error.

The team never looked back in its 16-8 win in Game 3 of the first round of the NorCo Legion playoffs, to advance to the semifinals against top-seeded Nazareth Thursday.

Matt Troyan was 3-3 with 4 RBIs, Alstan Wolfe added 3 hits and scored 3 times, and Kyle Petsch added 2 hits along with 4 runs scored.

Griffin Connelly doubled in the sixth inning, driving in 3 for Freemansburg, but it was too little to late.

Hellertown will play at Nazareth Boro Park at 5:30 p.m. as the next round of the NorCo playoffs begins.
