Man, Minor Arrested on Marijuana Charge, Hellertown Police Say

A Center Valley man and a juvenile are facing charges after police say they were allegedly found with marijuana in Hellertown borough Sunday at around 5:30 p.m.

A Center Valley man and a juvenile are facing charges after police say they were allegedly found with marijuana in Hellertown borough Sunday at around 5:30 p.m.

In a news release Wednesday, police said Jackson Duvall Troxell, 20, and the juvenile were both in the 1100 block of Furnace Street when a pedestrian called police to tell them they “were smoking suspected marijuana” there.

“Upon arrival, the officer was able to recover 184 grams of suspected marijuana along with other paraphernalia,” police said. That amount is equivalent to approximately 6.5 ounces.

Troxell and the juvenile are charged with felony Manufacture, Delivery or Possession With Intent to Distribute and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, according to the news release, which indicates that Troxell is also charged with Corruption of Minors.

Court records state that Troxell is free on $20,000 unsecured bail following a preliminary arraignment Monday before District Judge Nancy Matos Gonzalez.

A preliminary hearing that is scheduled before Matos Gonzalez on Aug. 6 at 9 a.m. is being continued and a preliminary hearing before District Judge Alan Mege is scheduled for Aug. 28 at 10:45 a.m., according to court records.
