An Allentown man is charged with DUI, after Lower Saucon Township Police say he allegedly failed field coordination exercises at a DUI checkpoint and was later determined to be over the legal limit for blood alcohol concentration.

In a post on the department’s new Crimewatch website Friday, police said Frank Raymond Mehall, 63, was operating a vehicle on Mountain Drive North Aug. 9 when he “turned around in the middle of the warning devices for a DUI checkpoint in an attempt to avoid the checkpoint, causing other vehicles to brake or stop to avoid a collision.”

Police said that Mehall was processed at the Northampton County DUI Center.
