Friday night’s 27-13 victory over crosstown rival Southern Lehigh had no shortage of outstanding plays. There were numerous offensive and defensive highlights that are certainly worthy of this weekly honor. But, this fantastic play is a gem.
On a 3rd & 8 from the Southern Lehigh 10-yard line the Panthers were clinging to a 13-6 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the 1st half. Mahaffey rolls out to his left looking for either Reily Hudak (#21) or Ryan Holub (#13) to get open. Seeing that all of his receivers are well-covered, Mahaffey nimbly changes direction and reverses field back to his right. Thanks to a series of key blocks from Tim Weaver, Evan Deily, Jared Harka and Aidan Redding, Mahaffey was able to finish for a score by powering his way into the endzone.
