Illegal Alien Had Psychedelic Mushrooms, Hellertown Police Say

A man Hellertown Police say is in the U.S. illegally was allegedly in possession of psychedelic mushrooms when he was the subject of an Aug. 31 traffic stop, according to a news release issued by the department.

A man Hellertown Police say is in the U.S. illegally was allegedly in possession of psychedelic mushrooms when he and another man were the subjects of an Aug. 31 Main Street traffic stop, according to a news release issued by the department Wednesday.Mushrooms

According to police, a detainer was issued by U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for Felipe Froner, 27, who was incarcerated in Northampton County Prison along with Nicolas Hurtado, 27, following the 11:12 p.m. stop for an alleged traffic violation.

Police said the men were found to be in possession of psilocybin mushroooms–which are classified as a controlled substance–as well as a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the time of the traffic stop.
