Lower Saucon Township Police say a Green Lane man is facing charges after he allegedly led police on a brief pursuit through part of the township before crashing his motorcycle on Meadows Road last month.
In a post published on the department’s Crimewatch website Friday, police said Steven J. Snyder, 33, was stopped at 3:58 a.m. Sept. 21 at Rt. 378 and Seidersville Road for allegedly operating his motorcycle with an expired registration.
While police were radioing in Snyder’s information, they say he fled the traffic stop and traveled down Seidersville Road and Hickory Hill Road to Meadows Road, where he crashed his bike.
Police said Snyder was then transported to St. Luke’s University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and subsequently released to police custody.
He was then detained in Northampton County Prison on a previous warrant for fleeing and eluding police issued by the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
In Lower Saucon Township he is charged with Fleeing and Eluding, a summary charge of reckless driving and three other traffic violations, police said.
According to Bucks County court records, Snyder, of the 2300 block of Finland Road, Green Lane, is charged by Pennsylvania State Police at Dublin with Felony 3 Fleeing or Attempting to Elude an Officer as well as resisting arrest and 16 summary offenses in a case that stems from an alleged July 6, 2018 incident in West Rockhill Township.
Following his arrest on those charges, Snyder was incarcerated for 10 days in the Bucks County Correctional Institution in July, according to court records, which indicate that after he was arrested in Lower Saucon Township Sept. 21, he bonded himself out of Northampton County Prison on Sept. 24 by posting a private surety of $50,000 bail, unsecured.
The West Rockhill Township case has been transferred to the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas, per records.
