Postmaster Joe DiRusso said the special mailbox for Santa’s letters was colored by kids who attended a holiday party at the post office Sunday afternoon. The children also made ornaments for the Christmas tree in the post office lobby, received goodie bags and enjoyed some holiday treats and snacks donated by local businesses.

The hand-colored Letters to Santa mailbox should be ready for use by this weekend, but letters can be dropped off before then, DiRusso said.

Letters to Santa that are dropped off must be accompanied by a return address in order to receive a reply.
