Elizabeth R. Jani, 83, of Bingen, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.

Elizabeth R. Jani, 83, of Bingen, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. She was the wife of the late John Jani Sr. Elizabeth was born in Fountain Hill on June 18, 1935 to the late William and Harriet (Merwath) Gerstenberg. She was a member of the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 Ladies Auxiliary, Hellertown, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Elizabeth was a member of New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lower Saucon Township.

SURVIVORS

Sons: John (Valerie K.) Jani of Boyertown, Jason J. (Whitney) Davison of Bushkill Township; foster children: Michael Gerstenberg (Alice Coughlin) of Nazareth, Rosemary Myers (David Sr.) of Bethlehem, Donna Lohman (Rick) of Burgaw, N.C.; five grandchildren. She was predeceased by siblings: Richard C. Sr., Stanley, Harry C. Sr., Bernard, Roy, Alvin Gerstenberg, Dorothy Miller, Harriet May, Edie Gerstenberg; foster son: Harry C. Gerstenberg Jr.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 at the  Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at New Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3233 Apples Church Road, Bethlehem. The Monday calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. Interment will conclude service at the Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
