Saucon senior Patrick Morrissey

On the eleventh day of showcasing Panther football record holders, Saucon Source wants to recognize senior, Patrick Morrissey.

Wearing #80, this 2018 1st Team Colonial League All-Star is listed at 6’2″, 215. Patrick earned Colonial League recognition on both sides of the ball and also as a punter where he averaged 38.6 yards per punt.  Patrick had a toolbox full of talents.  He was a true, offensive weapon but his defensive stats are what puts him into the Saucon Valley record books. After the 2018 season, Patrick finds himself as the Panthers All-Time leader for quarterback sacks (12.5).  He is also 5th in Career Tackles For Loss and 13th in Carer Tackle Assists (52).  Offensively, Patrick claims the 10th spot for Career Receptions (33).

Who was #1 for Career Sack? Mike Kane (2012-2015) is credited with 12 Career Sacks.

Who’s #1 for Career Tackles For Loss?  Mike Kane (2012-2015) has 34.5 TFL’s to his name.

Who’s #1 for Career Tackle Assists? Christian Carvis (2012-2015) had 129 career assists.

Who’s #1 with Career Receptions?  Jason Okken (2007-1010)  had 83 Career Receptions for his career.

Patrick said it: “My most memorable moment of this season is, by far, beating Northwestern the second time we played after they brought the hammer and slammed it on our field.  It was also very memorable breaking Mike Kane’s the All-time sack record.”

Coach Sams said it:  “Patrick was a 1st team All-League player at tight end, defensive end and punter.  I am not sure if that has ever happened before here at Saucon.  Furthermore, he is now the all-time sack leader.  Patrick had an awesome year!  He was a great target for Dante, a good blocker for Ian, a ferocious pass rusher, a solid run defender and a booming punter.  I really enjoyed coaching Patrick the past four years and will miss him.”

Congratulations Patrick, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
